The Nourished Mama - a day retreat for mamas and soon-to-be mamas
If you're feeling the desire for deep rest and relaxation, tending to your body and mind whilst also meeting other new or well-versed mamas or pregnant women - this retreat is for you. And you can do all of this and bring your baby along with you for intentional bonding time.
Connect with your baby and other mamas during this nourishing day retreat nestled amongst the ancient trees of the Sintra forest.
Spend a day in nature while connecting with other women, and honouring valuable time with your baby or bump. As we move into summer it can feel like the perfect time to get out and meet other mamas and babies - but sometimes this can be hard! My intention is to make this easy and nourishing for you.
Parenting can sometimes feel like a lonely and tiring ride, and even if you do have a busy social calender, it might not be often that you come away from social events feeling nourished or energized - or that you had the chance for a deep and connecting conversation.
a community of other mothers
Bond with your baby and have time to rest and rejuvenate yourself. Connect with other women and come away feeling welcomed, held and listened to.
CONNECT WITH your BABY
Mama and baby bonding practices
You’ll learn about the neurophysiology of you and your baby (both earth-side and in the womb) that will help you to understand more about the mother-baby dyad and why this connection is so important to healthy child development and nurturance.
-
Infant brain development (ages 0-3)
The nervous system: attunement, co-regulation + mirror neurons
The maternal brain
We will then put some of these things into practice using:
Baby/ bump massage + touch
Eye gazing/ visualisation
Mother-baby breathing
Connecting through movement
women supporting women
Sharing circle
There will also be time for rich sharing and discussion. Motherhood is a time of great change and with that often comes internal and external conflict. I create a safe and non-judgemental space for optional sharing and reflection - an opportunity to feel seen and heard in your motherhood experience, however that looks.
connect back to yourself
Learn more about the pregnant and post-partum body
We will spend some time learning some key biological and anatomical changes to the womens body, and how to support your body post-birth. We will also spend intentional practice time being-with and connecting to your ‘new’ body.
a chance for deep rest
Movement, breathwork + deep relaxation practice
Switch off and fully lean into a practice just for you - while your baby is being safely looked after just moments away.
Nurture your body and re-set your system with a nourishing practice combining yoga, breath and pelvic floor awareness and deep relaxation - this may be a yoga nidra, sound healing or a restorative practice.

MEET YOUR facilitator
Hi, Im Hannah. Integrative Somatic Psychotherapist. Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga Teacher. Perinatal Therapist. Mother.
I live near Fonte da Telha, just south of Lisbon with my partner, my dog and my one year old boy, Hopi, who so far he has been my biggest teacher.
I’m still learning and in the early phase of my motherhood journey. I strongly believe this journey should be shared, whatever it looks like for you - whether you’re navigating conception, are pregnant, or at any stage of post-partum.
Community makes me thrive and I’m creating this retreat for myself as well as you! To connect with and learn from other women and our babes.

-
The retreat is open to babies aged 0-3. I have found that mamas who come with younger and less mobile babies tend to have a more relaxing time, simply because they are able to sit in one space without running after their child - however, you know your baby, and it is still a wonderful day to spend with your toddler as well as a chance to connect with other mothers.
-
Any stage of pregnancy is welcome into this space. All practices will be tailored to suit your stage of pregnancy and post-partum.
-
A list of items will be sent to you ahead of the day - this is mainly for the babies, to make your day as easeful as possible.
